About

The Sunday Sunnies

The Sunday Sunnies is an act of defiance against the mind, an act to replace the concept of the notorious “Sunday Scaries”. At first, it started as a quiet Sunday morning solo practice in Heather’s home office. One of the benefits of being an early riser, not only enjoying the first cup of hot coffee but a quiet house with minimal distractions to plan, to strategize, to dream and reflect before the house is awake and the responsibilities alarm bell rings.

The concept is that Sunday is the first day of the week, not the last day of the weekend. The idea, simply, is to start your week early, choose to set positivity in motion and plan your week with intention. The goal, stop anxiously anticipating Mondays, take control, disrupt anxious thoughts and decisively crush goals instead.

About the Author

Heather Palazzo is creator and author of the “Sunday Sunnies” blog. Heather writes with honesty and sarcasm, sharing athletic pursuits as well as family stories to remind us that we are not alone, that life is hard but it can be pretty damn fun too.

Running has been a life-long passion and joy for Heather, early-on beating the boys at sprint races on the elementary school playground to running Varsity track, competing in the long jump and proud captain of her JV women’s soccer team in high school. An athlete most of her life, Heather continues to push boundaries, increase distance and level-of-difficulty of adventure into adulthood. When not running she enjoys mountain biking with her family, backpacking with the gals and generally any sport that involves the sun and water.

A creative soul forever, starting with a career in graphic design, Heather delights in simplicity these days when it comes to art, going back to basics working with scissors and a glue stick. Her home office, a loving host to stacks of magazines, various collections of potential paper clippings and a persistent dusting of tiny paper scraps.

Heather resides in Charlotte, North Carolina. Arriving via one-way ticket, meeting her Husband and never returning to her home in San Diego, California. Professionally, she is PMP and Scrum Master certified working in digital product consulting.

The Sunday Sunnies blog is core to her mental health practice, a love letter to playing outside and creating art, intended to set positivity in motion at the start of each week.
